We ARE Winning the War in Iraq

From newspapers in the United Kingdom we learn:

"Al-Qaeda and the Taleban are in retreat, the surge has worked in Iraq and Islamism is discredited. Not a bad haul" (read story)

Why ya' reckon CNN and the rest of the traitor media doan tell us this ???

[Hat tip to Stogie at Saberpoint]

American and Iraqi forces are driving Al-Qaeda in Iraq out of its last redoubt in the north of the country in the culmination of one of the most spectacular victories of the war on terror.

After being forced from its strongholds in the west and centre of Iraq in the past two years, Al-Qaeda’s dwindling band of fighters has made a defiant “last stand” in the northern city of Mosul.

Read the rest HERE

Folks, whatever our views on the war may be, we ought to revolt against news media who flatly fail to do their job--report then news, editorialize else' whar'. All ya'll liberals, doan ya' care that censorship is thrown over ya like a hood?

Here are some thangs to keep in mind:

1. The "war on Islamists" is OLD. It predates our nationhood. President Tom Jefferson battled the infidel in Africa ...AND engaged in "regime change" by unseating one pirate thug brother and installin' another more favorable to our vision of freedom. GWB did not start this thang.

2. Jimmy Carter was such a wimpy-butted slacker that his wishy-washy policies INVITED the Islamic bullies to take a swipe at us--an' they did. (That was in the 70's ya'll)

3. Clinton admits he did not handle Al-Queda and OBL correctly--in other words, he failed us as commander in chief--failed to protect us, an' THAT is why we had 9-11.

4. FOR TEN YEARS (since Gulf War I) the UNITED NATIONS insisted that Saddam had WMD in Iraq--thas' right folks...GWB did not invent or make up the idea of Saddam's WMD. The info was already held by the UN. (Full disclosure: Aunty's work is often in bowel of the East River Beast (UN). )

5. I'se cool wif' folks who thaink that the war was ill advised--mebbe that case can be made. I can roll wif' that. But mah gut says the trouble is NOT an ill advised war, but a war too tentatively engaged. Try not to go to war, but iffin' ya goes--git the job DONE ASAP. No kitty-footin' around.

6. This is a war that ain't goin' away. We cannot make "peace" wif Islam. We would like to-but they ain't havin' it.

They see their salvation as conversion of all ya'll--by force iffin' they have to. They started this war LONG before the ground was poked and oil came out.

The war is NOT ABOUT OIL. (yes, there is a war for oil--and economic and geopolitical diplomatic war over oil...but sports fans, even if that were resolved, the Islamists is STILL COMIN' fer ya'! ) For Islam, oil is a tool to use, not the goal. The goal is to submit every human to Allah and Sharia law.

Sooner or later, the West will have to deal wif this reality. People who pretend tha' CNN can make the war go away or Obama can make it go away is guilty of criminal negligence against they families and they chillen's.

I'se good wif the truth that we can disagree about the HOW --but people, please, fer mercy sake, we gotta git it together: This is a battle we must engage and win.

1) There are no "liberals".

2) The spineless slogan-chanting leftist traitors who like to pretend they're "liberal" LIKE censorship. They greatly prefer not to be exposed to facts contrary to their warped philosophy. And they don't want others exposed to the facts either.

3) The crushing losses suffered by Al Quyada and loose affiliates in Iraq is but one example.

4) Like most true Conservatives, I was against the Powell/Blair War-And-Reconstruction plan for Iraq. But that doesn't prevent me from recognizing that parts of that absurd plan were abandoned and we've had considerable success there as a result.

5) Most importantly, we Conservatives who were against Blair's war, NEVER rooted against success and our brave troops. The left, and the entire leadership of the Traitor-Democrat-Party-Of-Filth did EXACTLY that.

agree with trolls #4: i never liked the powell you break it you fix it routine. i prefer the old slogan:

marines: when it absolutely positively has to be destroyed overnight.

i would have gone over there cleaned out the uday and foo fays and sadaam al tikritis and then announce to the world that we would cutting all funding to petro nations. what shouldve happened is W should have told the house of saud what time it is but we cant i suppose since they can buy and sell america within a months time.

the media are our mortal enemy. Clinton wanted to be loved and never made any hard choices, Carter is insane, and your #5 point is spot on.

Well, I would love to be able to backtrack through this whole mess and urge our leaders to do what they FAILED to do immediately after 9-11. Which is, ringy dingy up the ol' House O' Saud and say: Listen, dudes, these mo'fo's who are messing with us? They're YOUR relatives. So we're going to give you exactly three months to clean house and if one more single terrorist act is perpetuated on our or our allies's soil, we will bomb you straight to hell. We will take OVER your country, run those damned oilfields all by ourselves and you can just go back to lighting campfires in the desert for a living, capice?

But we didn't. And now look where we are. I have no idea what "winning" means here. To me, the best we can hope for is "policing."

Some say they own too much of us? heh...well, then jess' nationalize what the own over heah like they did wif' ARAMCO. Fair is fair.

Iran shot missiles today - and that disturbs me.

Well before 9-11 I KNOW I read something about the Clinton Administration saying the War on Terror was too great and expensive and therefore rather than spend money on a situation that couldn't be won, they weren't going to do anything. Was I dreaming this? Just after 9-11 I spend time on the Internet trying to find this article... because it was in a major publication and could find nothing. But they clearly sent a message to the world that we were sitting ducks.

Anon Boxer--huh? Ya mean, in a national publication (not TV) ya read Clinton said the terror problem was too big so we's doin' zilch? What else does ya 'member? Mebbe I can git aholt of that article.

Yes, Sugar Plum, Iran is about to ratchet thangs up some. Doan fergit that Ahmadinejad was one of he students involved in the 1979-80 Iran hostage crisis.

K-9, rot on Moi? YA' doan mean decay? Ya means "rot" as "right on", right??

Aunty, I SWEAR I read this and it stayed with me because at the time it was shocking to read... I read it as "we give up". Let me try to work some brain cells and I'll be back. I want to say it was in August of 2001 or that summer. I read it online? Newspaper. Krap, must remember.

That Mean Dovey is on a rampage today... somebody left the Coop Door open!

I never saw any Al Quedia presense (sorry about spelling) before our arrival, but it did infiltrate itself after we got there. If winning this war is winning the war on terror, then yes, we are winning because many of their cells have been destroyed. If winning the war is what Troll's point of contention (number 4--I agree that many conservatives saw no purpose in it), then I don't see us winning, but we aren't losing either and for now that will have to do. I never supported this war, but I would like to see it end with a stable government and people able to live like human beings again. I think it is absurd to think that Americans will not be a military presence there; if we are still in Germany, then we will be in Iraq indefinitely. I would just like to see it on different terms.

I like coming here and I hope you are okay with it. I know I seem like a dreaded liberal, but I've been called everything under the sun and I just take point by point for analysis. I also agree with the pup (K9--I will write you soon) about Clinton. He lived for the polls. Why does everyone think he was so great?

Good to see you.

Aunty Belle said...

EOR,

I'se real pleased to see ya!

Ya's always welcome heah, Sweet Thang.

I knows youse right that Al Qaeda mostly infiltrated after our arrival. Thas' on account of Saddam bein' unwillin' to ah, share power, shall we say. But there were cells in place that, once Saddam was neutralized, easily moved into the vacuum.

I agrees wif ya fully--we want to see these folks live decently. And many do now. Just as critical, is to give a glimpse to the 20 somethin's so they will have a new vision of how life can be and then work fer it for the NEXT generation after.

An' I knows youse right on American military presence--as in Germany, like ya note.

Seems to me that one thang we can say wif'out flinching is that the USA ain't perfect.

But, wouldn't ya say that jes' like democracy ain't perfect but beats all other systems yet tried, that we also beat all other alternatives to world policemen?

Our presence is not a detriment to world peace, but a (much resented!) necessary bulwark against some would be world dominator.

America does a fair job of an impossible job--it is a fractious world, ain't it? We always look worst when some suggest thar could be a perfect world if we'd jes' move on over and "let it be." But realists know better. Some Hitler-esque monster is always lurkin'.

Thanky fer comin' by the Back Porch--always good to have well presented views, even liberal ones (smile!)

The media is driven by ratings.
I watch Greek news with my parents and then watch CNN and CTV the Canadian version of CNN.
I worked for the National Press for 4 years and from what I have seen and experienced I have learned unless you see it with your own eyes you know absolutly nothing from the news other than what time it starts.

The media is what sets the mood of the population.
I have had many an argument because of conflicting reports from different sources reporting the same story with a different perspective.

Aunty Belle said...

Heh..I am hearin' ya' Walker. Absolutely right.

An' that includes censorship by omission. When there is good news that does not fit the editor/ publisher's agenda, it is omitted and the viewers think no progress is made.

It is rather easy to communicate a lie while using facts.

"Aunty" is part of the vast "news" industry. I read Euro and Aussie news daily, Asian news 3-4 times per week, and dozens of special interest news feeds (cultural
trends, demographics, agriculture, biotech, currencies, etc,) . You perceive a very different world picture this way.

Did you ever see the movie Three Days of the Condor? Fantasy job: read for a living...that is until rogue folks decide to snuff ya' out fer what ya' know.

Hi,

I like your writing style, and the fact that from what I can tell your open to debate.

I would label myself what I think they call a Classical Liberal. Absolute Peace, and Absolute Freedom.

My Problem to a degree with the UN claiming Iran had WMD's for the last 20 year's is that to ALL World leader's thanks to President Putin's infamous Speech February 10, 2007, he let a litty kitty out of the bag that the US, and USSR had for over two decades been selling WMD's to all the World who ever had the most money. The speech is on my page, and putting it in the search engine will work.

To support this Soon to have a stroke Jimmy Carter came out that Israel is sporting 150+nuclear ICBM's. So, I don't see how between all of this there is any doubt that Iran has nuke ICBM's.

I noticed someone above alarmed at Iran's test of missiles???? They did that because Israel hedged oil few days ahead of that buy doing a long range dry bomb run over the mediterranian. They did this to prove that Iran was in range; all Iran did in response was show that they ain't the only ones in range.

So the kitty ain't in the bag, and because of two now former heads of state. Your absolutely correct about the war with Islam, Christianity, and even Judiasm has been raging for over 1,000 years.

Case in point, first I am not religious at all. I am to a degree spiritual. Temple Mount, site of the once great Solomon's Temple; now is home to The Holy Mosque. For Christians DO NOT construe me as a Muslim for speaking a fact. The Evangelical's/Mega Church goer's are controlled by minister's that tell them they won't suffer, and a magic blip, and their gone. When this doesn't happen; they then gave these serfs the tv series "Left Behind"!! Now you got a mission. Back to the point these Mega church's want their god to come again which would mean that the Holy Mosque has to go; in order to rebuild Solomon's Temple????? Why incourage any suffering???

Last of this read is my opinion based on the above. It is all over money/currency used/oil/power/control/dominion.

I am in America Central. My latest post which I am going to leave up a little longer goes over how the 4th Fleet is in operation again. I have seen their ship's in the Littoral's as the Flagg Officer said they'd be. I have seen their not so blended in might as well have a uniform, or assassination kit in hand Gringo's with their feet dry.

It was History breaking to appoint a Covert Ops/ SpecOps Rear Admiral Joseph Kernan to the position because a Navy Seal by the Geneva Convention is considered unfit for that command as being in their opinion a "war monger".

If any one is still reading at this point Feet dry is military jargin for give or take urban combat, or could be construed as Terrorism. In the Littorals means more, or less VERY visible from shore. That is like Terrorism in the fact that it scares the crap out of me. I didn't, but have a man I got to hunt down that had a picture of the strange ship in harbor here. Why?????

Centro America, and America Sur are splitting away in all regards including the money.

Last note of the evening is the fact that Depleted Uranium is really screwing everyone's genome up; badly!! They use this in every weapon fifty' cal', and up. I posted an article somewhere that states that the Iraqi Genome is literally ruined!! What about the soldier's?? Vietnam still has lasting genome/birth defects from agent orange; yet where is the compensation to the generations of American's exposed to it??

Peace and Freedom

Aunty Belle said...

...Amercian Hill Billy,
Howdy and welcome. Yes, we are open to debate on this BACK Porch. Onliest rule we ask folks to observe is that ya' can disagree wif' points of view while remainin' respectful towards those who hold them-an I see ya does that jes' fine. Welcome aboard.

On peace and freedom, I reckon most folks is in agreement. Some understand "peace" as the absence of conflict, but that is possible in a hideous dictatorship, because the henchmen simply zap anyone causing any disturbance about anything--so yeah, its "peaceful" because nobody will raise their head above the horizon.

But ya added in "freedom" too. So, I think youse got a winning formula.

Where we have diverse views is on how to achieve that.

I understand idealism. It is a yearning for the way things OUGHT TO BE. I git that.

Problem is that jes' like a plyaground whar' ever' kid has a ball or a toy, some bully is going to come along and make trouble.

We could let the bully git away wif' it, and soon enough, other scared kids will join him as a means of self-defense to be on the "strong" side.

Mayhap there's a kid who's pretty decent boy, but not perfect--a tad boastful and sometimes self-serving, but not a bully. He jes' wants to be the star ball player--but he ain't lookin fer a fight.

Eventually these two is goin' to tussle. I throw in with the decent kid who ain't perfect. Least he ain't a damn bully.

The thang is, American HillBilly, that this world is full of bullies. Folks--like Saddam Hussein --who use they own people as a foil and shield against their own debauched and bullying ways.

AN they attract other bullies..a consortium of bullies.

Eventually, they's goin to be a tussle.

But before we git to that point, a whole lot of spyin' and positioning is goin on--some is to send a message to the bullies, some is to prepare fer what is shure to come.

We ain't to paradise yet--I mean, this world is not perfect, an' it ain't gonna be perfect. This means we gotta decide what kind of imperfect we can live wif'--ya know?

Ever hear the wise saying,
"The perfect is the enemy of the good"?

Think of a marriage. No spouse is perfect. Iffin' youse expectin a saint fer spouse, an' measuring your sweetie by some perfect vision, there is no hop fer your realtionship.

She may be real decent, pretty darn good lookin', fun and a fair cook, nice actin' most time...but if ya insist on measuring her by some perfect vision, youse sure to be real unhappy .

Ya coulda been happy enough wif the good spouse, but ya held ontoa perfect (impossible) image and so youse not happy, and that makes ya mad--now ya see her as the problem.

But she ain't the problem---it is yore vision of perfectness that is the rub...

This is my view of America. We ain't perfect. But we's decent enough for a land 305 million folks all definin' freedom as "have it your way."

In fact, we is a miracle--ever think how cool it is that we can turn over control to the most powerful chair on earth--and do it wif'out a revolution?

Ya'll, doan be expectin'a perfect nation. Ya only make yoreself unhappy when all the while youse liivin' whar' it is pretty dern good. Jes' ask all them that vote wif' their feet to get here.

I does want to yore point on mega churches/ evangelical push fer the Temple Mount.

Aunty doan go fer that at all. I is a Christian. But I think God is a big God and He can figger out when He wants to arrange the next Big Show--He doan need me to push is project along to suit some personal calendar.

This is more my speed: Every day is the Next Big Show for someone. Mebbe me. I should be more worried about the state of mah own soul rather than trying to get the Temple Mount in mah folk's hands. Gof will settle that soon ebough wif'out my advice. I need to be a good minister of my own interior.
