Economics 101

Youse prolly seen this already but in case not....

"You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it." Adrian Rogers
This man is truly a genius!

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before,
but had once failed an entire class.
That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked & that no one would be poor & no one would be rich, a great equalizer.
The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan".
All grades would be averaged & everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail & no one would receive an A...
After the first test, the grades were averaged & everyone got a B.
The students who studied hard were upset & the students who studied little were happy.
As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less & the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little. The second test average was a D!
No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.
The scores never increased as bickering, blame & name-calling all resulted in hard feelings & no one would study for the benefit of anyone else. All failed, to their great surprise, & the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

Could not be any simpler than that. (Please pass this on) Remember, there is a mid-term election in 2010!

Ah, a professor who actually chose to teach? I wonder if this is a real story, so I will look it up. If so, he taught them better than any other professor they will encounter in any course they take. And yes, an F which teaches is far superior to an A requiring only a bit of work, or even hard word, but which doesn't really expand one's understanding of the real world. I remember blowing $900 dollars "upgrading" my first computer (that would be like a million now or something, *snark*... well, *almost snark*, it did hurt more). I learned more, when I took stock later, losing $900 than I would have spending $10,000 or even $40,000 at a school. How many workers don't really worry because it isn't their gear (or money) if something goes wrong?

Anyway, the fun part of this story is that Obama, and all he believes in, is fail whether those who believe earn the F or just deserve it. I am almost surprised they didn't try and turn it into a "civil rights case". When all else fails, call it discrimination.

Well, speaking from experience, things have not changed much. If you set the curve in a class of slackers, you get your A or your 4.0 but you also catch a boatload of flack from the non producing whiners.

My car got keyed because, according to skewed logic, another failed because I succeeded. Classmates punished me for doing what we were all paying to be there to do.

Same thing is happening on a broader field,
we are punishing success and rewarding failure. Politicians my be out there saying the way to multiply is to divide and redistribute, but the reality is divide and conquer works.

Good story Aunty! No matter to me if it is real or not as it demonstrates the point very well. I will pass this on..

well well well.
I tread lightly, but, I walk in truth, m'dear.
Obama doesn't push socialism.
Maybe your 'mystery e-mailer' from the front porch gave you that information, I don't know.
But, instead of arguing the point, I did the resaech.
Either you, or your 'mystery e-mailer' blatantly lied to us.
Sorry.
Flat out.
There it is, and posted at

http://firstfarmandweatherreport.blogspot.com/

On the brighter side, the research made me delve even deeper into areas i had previously grumbled about. Nasa, EPA, the physical cost of the government, really piddly things like that.
Now I see clearer and realize how big of a mistake dropping the ball on the Health Care System was.
The cost of letting bush junior have his profitable way with our economy has been greatly underestimated, too. The man should be up on charges.

But Obama and socialism?
Incorrect, and chipping away at your credibility, mam.
Sorry, but, you're not really showing the truth. You are using misdirection to make a point. In essence, you are pandering to what you think people know. But upon finding the truth, what will your excuse be?
You got it in an e-mail?

I'm not surprised that you like this..............it fits with your pre-conceived beliefs, and is, essentially, a parable. And we know how much fictitious extended metaphors appeal to you!

Chill, Aunty B.

Your country has been stumbling for quite some time now. You'll need to compromise and work together to move on, not dig in and divide.

Life is good.
Try and live it.
