Corruption

Jaques Chirac is goin' to trial over greed and graft that saw him sellin' French military equipment to Saudi Arabia, but cuttin' out the US competition--an he is also gonna be hit wif' charges of emboozlement while he was jes' the lowly mayor of Pair-ee. Heh.

Pakistan cheated on their Cricket matches...

Lehman Brothers say Bernake of the Federal Reserve is a liar an' a cheat....

The Russians is involved in clandestine gunrunnin' from Thailand ( Viktor Bout)....

Mozambique has food riots amid charges of gubmint price fixin'.....

Afghan bankers resign under revelations of corruption (bankers the world over are all the same ain't they?)

Mexico's middle name is corruption....

Half the US congress is or should be under investigation fer ethics violation...

an' of course, the most corrupt organization of all, the planetary plague, the United Nations.

all jes' in time fer the September Global Anti-Corruption Conference in Prague hosted by Transparency International...which is itself none to transparent.

Aunty,
Tell you the truth, I am glad to learn I'se not the onliest one despairing about the loss of integrity and the greed epidemic.

It's big too, I wxpect every blogger that comes here to add to the list of examples. Not just here in USA but everywhere. You're so right, a nation which fails to treasure it's freedoms and "trust in God" pretty much is asking for the Devil to lead the way.

Last Friday I took my Nephew on the very silly UNDERGROUND TOUR in Seattle. No surprise to learn Seattle was founded by criminals and crooks .... and they became the leaders/politicians that shaped the city. So, to answer your question....YES I believe things have always have always been this bad.

"Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely"

Wait until November. I hope everyone is surprised.

Fishy,
well, yep--but mah real worry is that the thang is bigger than greed--always had that. I'se stunned at the open arrogance of the looters--nay, the attempt to INSTITUTIONALIZE looting.

Here's the thang: that bad deeds is done is bad enough--so we has police and FBI and who-all to nab the bad folks. trouble is now we has made policy an' law to codify--to say looting is OK, even a good thang, so that those once charged to protects us from the bad folks is not deputized BY the worst folks to nab US when we simply live as is right or fair.

Boxer-Babe

Oh thas' funny--Never knowed that of Seattle--heered of Aussies descendin' from prisoners shipped off to the DownUnder--

always been that bad--sigh...soon the "underground" will those of uss tryin' to live and do right wif'out bein' criminalized fer it.
